Gadchiroli
 Old era  Gadchiroli is a town and a municipal council in Gadchiroli district in the state of Maharashtra, central India.gadchiroli  located at eastern side of maharashtra. Gadchiroli administrative headquarters of the district. Main river flown through city is the Vainganga. It is green lush in Monsoon season (July to September) but also prone to flooding. Gadchiroli is known for its forest. 'Teak' is grown commercially and Bamboos are used for various crafts. Gadchiroli tehsil was created in 1905 by transfer of zamindari is start from Brahmapuri and Chandrapur tahsil. Gadchiroli district was created on August 26, 1982 by bifurcating the Chandrapur district in the place of Brahmapuri, which is part of the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra. In ancient times the region was ruled by the Rashtrakutas, the Chalukyas, the Yadavas of Deogiri and later the Gonds of Gadchiroli. In the 13th century Khandkya Ballal Shah founded Chandrapur. He shifted his capital from Sirpur to Chandrapur. Chandrapur subsequently came under Maratha rule. In 1853, Berar, of which Chandrapur (then called Chanda until 1964) was part, was ceded to the British East India Company. In 1854, Chandrapur became an independent district of Berar. In 1905, the British created the tehsil of Gadchiroli by transfer of zamindari istate from Chandrapur and Brahmapuri. It was part of the Central Provinces till 1956, when with the reorganisation of the states, Chandrapur was transferred to Bombay state. In 1960, when the new state of Maharashtra was created, Chandrapur became a district of the state. In 1982 Chandrapur was divided, with Gadchiroli becoming an independent district in the place of Brahmapuri. Naxalism is highly prevalent in Gadchiroli and subsequently has been highlighted as part of the Red Corridor, used to describe areas in India that are plagued by Naxalites.

1.     Shiva mandir
Markandadeo village is a famous place  of God 'Shiva' and is grandeur for religious people not only in Maharashtra but also everywhere in India. It comes under the revenue jurdiction of Chamorshi Tahsil in Gadchiroli district. Village population is about 1000. The village is situated on the bank of Vainganga River.
Since ancient times, Markanda is a religious place in this taluka. One can find a Hemadpanthi Mahadeo temple with delicate carvings. The deity here is known as Markand-dev. The surroundings of the temple are extremely pleasing. A fair is held every year on Mahashivratri
A historical town in Armori taluka, the Vairagarh fort here was once the capital of Gond King Raja Virat. Hemadpanthi temples of Bhandareshwar and Gorjai are also found here. Construction and digging in this area needs special permissionof the Government as relics continue to be discovered here even today.

Also known as Rudramal, his fort is adjacent is a famous fort. Though Vajragad has many 3-4 cisterns, they don't hold potable water, especially in summer. So better to take enough water from base village
4.   Engineering college

Government College of Engineering Chandrapur was established in 1996 This is the only Government Institute under R.T.M. Nagpur University, Nagpur and Gondwana University Gadchiroli. First and Second year is affiliated to Gondwana University Gadchiroli whereas Third and Final year is affiliated to R.T.M. Nagpur University. This Government institute is completely funded by Government of Maharashtra. This college is under Director of Technical Education, M.S., Mumbai and is administered through its Regional office at Nagpur. 2.chaprala

This sacred place, also known as Prashant Dham, is situated on the confluence of rivers Wardha and Wainganga in Chamorshi taluka. The Hanuman temple here is spectacular. Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated here with great festivity.
